About Us
Troup Area Homeschool Co-op hopes to bring together a community of homeschooling families who believe education should be dynamic, personalized, and supported by a network of like-minded individuals. At our core, we value cooperation, creativity, and the joy of learning, creating an environment where children can thrive academically and socially, while parents can find support, resources, and encouragement.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide an inclusive, flexible, and enriching learning experience that nurtures each child’s unique interests, talents, and potential. We aim to foster a love of learning through cooperative classes, hands-on activities, and community-building experiences that benefit students and parents.
We believe homeschooling when paired with a supportive and collaborative community, creates the best environment for growth and success. Our co-op is being built to serve families by offering educational opportunities that enrich home learning, provide social interaction, and allow parents to share the joys and challenges of homeschooling together.
Who We Are
A diverse group of homeschooling families, united by a common desire to create the best learning and social experiences for our children. Regardless of background and experience with homeschooling, our co-op is a welcoming place where everyone has something to contribute and something to learn.
Our families come from various backgrounds, homeschooling philosophies, and educational needs, and we embrace this diversity. Together, we provide a supportive environment where each family can find what works best for them while benefiting from the collective experience of our community.
We envision a community that can offer:
- Academic Enrichment: Offering a wide range of enrichment classes across subjects like math, science, language arts, history, art, and more. These classes would be designed to complement a wide range of homeschool curriculums and homeschool styles while engaging students in interactive, hands-on learning.
- Parent Collaboration: Embracing the power of collaboration. Parents and caregivers would actively participate in the teaching process, allowing us to pool resources and expertise to create a rich, dynamic learning experience.
- Socialization and Community: Beyond academics, we want to accommodate opportunities for positive, supportive, and healthy social connections. Through classes, clubs, field trips, parties, community service projects, and more we want to give students the chance to build lasting friendships and learn from real-world experiences.
- Parental Support and Resources: Whether new to homeschooling or have years of experience, our co-op hopes to provide a strong support system for parents and share resources, advice, and encouragement in our homeschooling journeys.
